TIGG CORPORATION QUALITY ASSURANCE
Steel Tanks and Pressure Vessels
At TIGG, quality is the key for all of our steel tanks and pressure vessels. Building on our 30+ years of experience in fabricating tanks, we have developed and implemented Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC ) Programs that assure our customers of receiving a high quality, enduring product that will provide years of service life.
Below is an overview of our tank and vessel quality procedures:

TIGG employs an in-house AWS Certified Welding Inspector
• Standard Quality Procedures:
1. ASME Code vessels are designed, built and tested to comply with the stringent requirements ASME Pressure Vessel Code and are registered with the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.
2. For all other liquid tanks, welds are visually examined and tanks are hydrostatically tested to a minimum of 1.3X design pressure
3. For all other vapor tanks, welds are visually examined and tanks are air tested to 15 psi.
• Quality Procedures, NDE:
When service or customer specifications require additional quality assurance and quality control, TIGG employs the following procedures:
- Visual examination
- Magnetic Particle Examination
- Radiographic Examination
- Penetrant Examination
- Ultrasonic Examination
- Leak testing
Blasting - Linings - Coatings Quality Assurance:
- Prior to blasting, all tanks are visually inspected once more for welding quality, and any necessary repairs are made.
- Tanks are then sent to blast booth where TIGG utilizes SpongeJet technology to achieve the specified metal quality for maximum adhesion of linings and coatings
- After removing debris and dust from the blast operation, the tanks are sent to the spray booth for application of internal coating. After each coat is applied, wet and dry film thicknesses are measured to check for adherence to specs.
- After the final coat is applied, lining is tested for holidays with either an AP-W high voltage detector or M-1 low voltage holiday detector. If necessary, repairs are made and lining is allowed to cure prior to shipment.
